New Flyer wins 110-bus order from Edmonton

The contract with the Edmonton Transit Service includes options to purchase an additional 120 clean diesel Xcelsior buses
WINNIPEG—Winnipeg bus maker New Flyer Inc. has won a contract from the City of Edmonton for 110 Xcelsior clean diesel buses.
The contract also includes options to purchase an additional 120 of the forty-foot buses.
New Flyer says the buses will be deployed on the Edmonton Transit Service network in 2018, supporting routes that move more than 300,000 people per day.
“For over 20 years we have supported Edmonton’s innovative growth and development with New Flyer buses,” said Paul Soubry, president and CEO of New Flyer.
Soubry continued, “We are proud to support Edmonton’s continued transformation as it expands public transit infrastructure, and focuses on clean energy, sustainability, and safe, accessible public transportation.”
New Flyer did not disclose the dollar value of the contract.
