Dajcor Aluminum launching $10.2M expansion at Chatham, Ont. plant

Manufacturer will add 35 new jobs by time work on project concludes in 2018
CHATHAM, Ont.—An Canadian manufacturer located outside Windsor, Ont. is scaling up with a $10.2 million expansion.
Dajcor Aluminum Ltd., which makes extruded and fabricated aluminum parts for the auto, construction and home building industries, among others, is planning to install new fabrication equipment, allowing it to boost its capacity and expand its business into different areas.
“This investment in new technology continues Dajcor’s evolution and adds even greater flexibility and technical capabilities for our valued customers,” Mike Kilby, the company’s president and owner, said in a statement.
Components for transit door assemblies, ventilation systems and LED light enclosures are among the new products the Chatham, Ont. manufacturer is looking into adding to its lineup.
The investment is expected to create 35 new jobs in Chatham, and Dajcor anticipates completing the work by the end of 2018.
The Ontario government is supporting the project with $1 million from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund.
